Peace Be with You

Is there a difference between happiness and peace? We often think happiness comes in bursts, but I think peace is a sense of general well-being. That all is well; a sense of contentment. It is an awareness of any happiness, any sadness, and still finding a way to be at ease. I think being peaceful requires consciousness—it doesn’t surprise us the way that happiness can. It is when we make note of the past, present, and future and feel alright with it all. Everything will be alright.
For the first time in a long time, I felt that sense of peace last night as I laid in my bed falling asleep. Listening to Earth Wind and Fire, no less! Just listening to the sound of my own breath and having a slight smile on my face, I could simply relax. And I can’t wait to get that sense of peace again today in my first yoga class of the quarter. It’s in these moments that all is well, but there are many more opportunities to find such a peace.
I invite you to not necessarily search for your moments of peace, but to be open to them as they come to you. Allow yourself to let go of any stresses or worries and to be simply, happily peaceful.
What do you to find peace in your life?
Keep shining,
