Guess the Animal

It could be that it’s 11:30 at night while I write this after going through a few days of midterm madness but my affinity for animals is in full swing right now. I’m an animal lover to my core—always have been, always will be. I often say that if I didn’t want to be in the entertainment industry, I would be in the animal business. I would be perfectly happy petting pandas (which are actually not soft from what I’ve been told and actually not that friendly—so see, maybe I wouldn’t be the best zookeeper after all) and I would love to teach dolphins new tricks. Sometimes there is nothing that makes me happier than interacting with an animal, even if it’s just looking at pictures.Which brings me to my next point. There’s a game I love to play—Guess the Animal. I love giving people an animal that represents them; physically and characteristically. I’ve come up with everything from capybaras (hey, who wouldn’t want to be the largest rodent in the world, right?) to kangaroos, seals, and beagles. (Aren’t dog personalities the best?) People often say I’m a deer or a bunny—sorry, but I beg to differ. Perhaps I look like either of those woodland creatures but I think I’ve got a little more spice than shyness of those two animals. Any thoughts on what my new animal should be? Personally, I’m feeling the river otter tonight.I hope you’ll channel your inner animal this week. Call me crazy but I think animals can teach us more than we give them credit for. To be fearless, to be courageous, to be playful, to be peaceful—to be simply happy—animals have it all.Keep shining,The Sunny Girl, Lauren CookPlease follow me on Twitter by clicking here!
