Unforgettable

As an only child, I've always had a close relationship with my parents. I've been thinking a lot about them because this is my last day at home before I start school. I have had such a wonderful summer with them but I have especially enjoyed the company of my dad. He's one of the happiest people I know and he has brought so much laughter and joy to our house.
I've always been "Daddy's Little Girl." My dad always wanted to spend time with me; whether that was sometimes taking me to McDonald's in the morning before school or taking me for a helicopter ride (without the windows over the ocean!) We've shared countless memories together and my dad has taught me to see the sunshine in life. Every morning he runs in my room and says, "It's gonna be a great day, for me and my Lauren!" How can I not start the day off right with that?
An especially happy memory was when my dad and I were in the Las Patronas Debutante Ball. It was such an honor to have my dad present me and we loved dancing the waltz. For the record, my dad is the best dancer I know and we practically do flips when we swing dance!
He's also a great singer; he creates songs and jingles all, and I mean all, the time. We love to sing our duets together; especially the duets by Nat King Cole and Natalie Cole. My dad is truly "unforgettable." I'm going to miss him and my entire family very much when I'm gone at school but I know we'll still talk every day. What a year it will be!
Keep shining,
The Sunny Girl, Lauren Cook
