Let Them Entertain You

There really is something to the song, “Let Me Entertain You—Let Me Make You Smile,” because I couldn’t stop smiling last night while watching “A Night at the Moulin Rouge” at the Hollywood Bowl . It was a magical evening filled with the sounds of the LA Philharmonic Symphony, the high kicks of can-can dancers all the way from Paris, and the bright lights of the fireworks. With a picnic to match, I was so happy last night and I could have watched that show over and over.Going to performances are one of the things that make me exceptionally happy. Watching the sheer talent of various people never fails to “wow” me—especially when it comes to dancing. I used to do ballet so watching a dancer, particularly in ballet, is always a joyous occasion. If I had it my way, I would go to a show at least once a month—talent is never something to be missed. Every musical, every ballet, and every concert is an opportunity to reconnect with ourselves and the capability of the human mind, body, and heart. What shows bring you the most happiness? This coming year, I’m hoping to see more musicals, concerts, and ballets. In fact, I’m going to a concert tonight called Bruin Bash (a show at UCLA to kick the year off). But with the Pantages at our back door and ballets from all over the world coming to Los Angeles, I’m making a vow to keep an eye out for these opportunities and get happy! What will be entertaining you this year?Keep shining,The Sunny Girl, Lauren CookPlease follow me on Twitter by clicking here!
