Weekend Wonderland
Hello everyone! It’s nice to be back. I just got home from a weekend trip to the mountains where there was limited service but unlimited fun! It was so nice to get away for a couple days and forget about the daily worries of life for a little while. I went with some of my sorority sisters where we were hosted by one of my sister’s extremely hospitable family. They had a beautiful mountain cabin home that we stayed in. It was really a weekend to remember. There’s nothing like sipping hot cocoa by a fireplace while playing Balderdash (a game of odd definitions if you’ve never played!)
It was also a weekend of great adventures. I hadn’t been skiing in over five years and I was pretty nervous about hitting the slopes again. But with the help of my friends, I was skiing a black diamond by the end of the day! (Let’s not pay attention to the fact that I wiped out four times). It turns out that I absolutely love skiing and I hope that I’ll get to go again this season.
Another great part of the trip? Snowmobiling! If you’ve never gone, you have to try it at some point in your life. It’s similar to jet-skiing except this is on the snow of course. My friend and I had such a blast (again, never mind the fact that we wiped out). It’s fun living life on the edge and taking a few risks; this weekend was all about pushing outside of my comfort zone and trying new things.
This was such a happy weekend full of laughs, smiles, and friendly conversation. I want to especially thank my sister’s family for hosting ten college girls (sound daunting?) for the weekend. It was the best! I thought I’d share some pictures with you all—enjoy!
