Put a Pen to the Paper
Are you going through an incredibly happy time, or perhaps a terribly difficult time? Then it may be the perfect time to pick up a pen and write. Write for yourself and no one else. Sure, blogging can be great when you don’t mind whose eyes gaze (or glance) at the screen, but sometimes you need to keep your thoughts, and words to yourself. I’m a huge advocate of journaling and I encourage you to try it for a bit if you’re afraid to take the leap into the leather-bound.If nothing more, journaling is perfect for making note of your life—otherwise it can pass you by. If you don’t document it with pictures or words, then a magical night can become a hazy memory in a matter of months. The days become so much more meaningful when you’re recognizing what was special about them. Sometimes I’ll just jot down what stands out to preserve it in my mind for later. You’ll be amazed by how much more you can remember when you’ve taken the time to jot it down.Sometimes I just need to get my thoughts out of my head and onto the paper. If I’m angry or hurt and I’m ruminating relentlessly, writing down how I feel clarifies my true feelings on a situation. I can say it like it is without hurting anyone. On the flip side, when I’m extremely happy, it’s like I get to relive all of those fantastic events when I write it all down.Case in point: Harry Potter would have never known the truth about Snape if Snape hadn’t preserved his memories. Nowadays, you can’t exactly use tears to store your’s, but a journal does a pretty good job.Keep shining,The Sunny Girl, Lauren CookPlease follow me on Twitter by clicking here!
